NATAL SKY · FREE CALCULATOR
A birth chart is more than a Sun sign. Calculate your Sun, Moon, rising sign and houses, then see which annual chapter is active now.
MORE THAN THE BIG THREE
The Sun, Moon and ascendant describe different functions. None is a complete personality on its own.
A birth chart with sect shows whether the Sun or Moon leads, and which planets speak more naturally in the chart.
Moira adds annual profections so the chart becomes a living map rather than a static description.
CALCULATION AND UNCERTAINTY
The planets occupy zodiac positions at every moment. Date and place let us calculate much of that sky, while the exact time connects it to the local horizon.
Moira can calculate the ascendant, houses and day-or-night distinction more precisely. Historical time-zone handling matters as much as the city name.
We do not invent an ascendant. The Sun and slower planets usually remain available, while the Moon may require a range check if it changed signs that day.
Rounded times, incorrect historical time zones, different house systems or a birth near a sign boundary can produce different outputs. Moira keeps the calculation evidence visible.
WHAT THE CALCULATOR RETURNS
The Sun shows a central organizing principle in the chart. Moira treats it as one factor, not the whole personality.
The Moon describes changing needs, memory, body rhythm and the way continuity is restored after stress.
The ascendant opens the house sequence. It depends on birth time and place, so Moira marks uncertainty when needed.
Houses organize life areas: body, resources, home, partnership, work, public direction and more.
Sect identifies whether the Sun or Moon leads the chart and changes how benefic and malefic planets are interpreted.
Moira connects the birth chart to annual profections and current transits so the chart is read through time.
HOW TO READ A FREE BIRTH CHART
A free birth chart calculator can only be as reliable as the date, time and place entered. If the time is approximate, the rising sign and house placements should be treated with caution.
A planet names the function, while a house names the area of life where that function is active. Venus in the tenth house, for example, is not read the same way as Venus in the fourth.
The natal chart is the foundation. Timing techniques such as annual profections and today's transits show which parts of the chart are being activated now.
THE TWELVE HOUSES
The first house begins with the rising sign and concerns embodiment, direction and presence. The second house turns toward money, possessions, appetite and what supports survival.
The third house describes siblings, local movement, writing and regular communication. The fourth house points to home, ancestry, family foundations and the private ground beneath public life.
The fifth house concerns pleasure, children, romance, creative risk and what brings vitality. The sixth house describes work routines, illness, service, friction and the systems that maintain the body.
The seventh house names partners, clients, contracts and visible others. The eighth house concerns shared money, debt, grief, trust and situations that cannot be controlled alone.
The ninth house points to study, travel, faith, law and long-distance vision. The tenth house describes public role, vocation, responsibility and what becomes visible in the world.
The eleventh house concerns friends, networks, patrons and future hopes. The twelfth house marks solitude, hidden stress, endings, retreat and forms of repair that happen out of sight.
COMMON MISTAKES
It should not turn one placement into a complete identity. A Sun sign, Moon sign or rising sign is meaningful, but each one changes when read with house placement, planetary ruler, aspect pattern and sect.
It should not pretend unknown data is known. If birth time is missing, the calculator should preserve what can be calculated and mark what depends on the ascendant. This matters especially for houses, angular planets and annual timing.
It should not hide the method. Moira is built around visible calculation: birth data, whole-sign houses, sect, annual profections and current transits remain connected to the interpretation.
NEXT STEP
Once the natal map is calculated, the useful question becomes timing: which house is active this year, which planets are moving across sensitive points, and which life areas deserve attention now.
LIFE QUESTIONS
Career timing starts from the 10th, 6th and 2nd house patterns, then asks when work becomes active enough for action.
Commitment timing begins with partnership indicators, but Moira reads readiness and windows rather than promising an event.
Home, children and care questions are read reflectively, with a clear boundary around medical and fertility advice.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
No. You can calculate the opening result first and decide later whether to save it.
Moira treats astrology as a reflective framework. A chart or transit does not guarantee an event or replace professional advice.
Moira's timing architecture is built around classical whole-sign houses and explains the evidence behind the reading.
Yes, with limits. Moira clearly marks the ascendant and house information that cannot be established reliably.
A horoscope is often written for a Sun sign or rising sign group. A birth chart uses the sky at your exact birth moment and is specific to your data.
Common causes include rounded birth times, historical time-zone handling, house system differences and births close to sign or house boundaries.
It depends on the question. The rising sign anchors houses, while the Sun, Moon and planetary rulers each describe different layers of the chart.
