A PERSONAL WEATHER MAP

A free transit chart with the calculation and interpretation together.

This transit calculator uses your birth chart as the fixed reference and the current planets as the moving layer. The result identifies which natal chart transits are active now, then turns the geometry into a readable interpretation without hiding the calculation.

ASPECT

What is meeting

See the moving planet, the natal point and the geometric relationship between them.

ORB

How close it is

Orb measures distance from exactness. A tighter orb locates the timing more precisely.

PHASE

Where you are

Forming, exact or integrating distinguishes what is approaching from what is already settling.

HOW TO USE THIS CALCULATOR

Read today's transits in three steps.

1. Start with a reliable natal chart

Your birth date, time and place define the fixed positions Moira compares against the current sky. If your exact time is unknown, the calculator still reads many planet-to-planet transits and marks what cannot be known reliably.

2. Compare current planets to natal positions

The transit chart calculator looks for active aspects between today's planets and your birth chart. It keeps the moving planet, natal point, aspect type and orb visible so the interpretation is tied to evidence.

3. Treat the result as timing, not certainty

Astrology transits today can describe pressure, support, attention or transition. They should not be read as guaranteed events. Moira frames them as windows for observation and decision-making.

READING A TRANSIT

A period, not a prediction.

A transit forms when a current planet reaches a meaningful angle to a natal position. It gives a topic temporal shape but does not guarantee an event.

Fast planets describe short passages

The Moon moves quickly. Mercury, Venus and Mars can make several days or a week easier to locate around communication, relationship and momentum.

Slow planets establish a season

Jupiter and Saturn move slowly. Their aspects may form, become exact and return during retrograde motion, creating a longer window.

The exact date is an anchor

Experience often begins before mathematical exactness and continues after it. Moira therefore shows a window instead of making one day carry the entire meaning.

PLANETS IN TRANSIT

What different transiting planets tend to emphasize.

MOON

Daily sensitivity

Moon transits are quick. They often describe mood, body rhythm, contact, memory and the small changes that make a day feel different.

MERCURY

Messages and decisions

Mercury transits can highlight writing, planning, travel, scheduling, negotiation and the way information moves through your day.

VENUS

Desire and ease

Venus transits may show where attraction, pleasure, repair, aesthetics or social grace can be noticed without forcing a result.

MARS

Friction and action

Mars transits can bring heat, initiative, conflict, effort or urgency. The useful question is where energy needs a clean outlet.

JUPITER

Growth and permission

Jupiter transits often describe expansion, confidence, teaching, support or excess. The wider context determines whether more is actually better.

SATURN

Structure and limits

Saturn transits tend to make time, duty, boundaries and consequences visible. They can feel heavy, but they also clarify what can endure.

TRANSITS VS NATAL CHART

The natal chart is the map; the transit chart is the moving sky.

A natal chart describes the birth sky. A transit chart compares the current sky to that fixed pattern. This is why a generic horoscope can feel vague: it usually reads one sign or one planet for everyone, while a personal transit reading asks what today's planets are actually touching in your own chart.

For example, a Mars transit to natal Venus is not the same as a Mars transit to natal Saturn. The planet being contacted, the aspect, the house context, and the speed of the transiting planet all change the reading. Moira keeps those layers visible so the interpretation does not become a detached paragraph.

If you are new to astrology, start with the free birth chart calculator first. Once the birth chart is calculated, astrology transits today can be read as timing signals around that chart rather than a standalone forecast.

COMMON MISTAKES

Do not read every transit with the same weight.

A good transit reading prioritizes. A slow planet near exact aspect, a transit to the Moon, Sun, ascendant, chart ruler or lord of the year will usually matter more than a minor fast contact with a wide orb.

It also matters whether a transit is new, exact, separating or repeating through retrograde motion. Repeated contacts often describe a longer process rather than one isolated day.

Moira reads today's transits as part of a larger timing map. The current sky is useful, but it becomes clearer when connected to the annual chapter and the natal chart underneath it.

QUESTIONS

Understanding personal transits.

Are today's transits identical for everyone?

No. The sky is shared, but it forms different aspects with each natal chart. Two people can live under the same current Moon or Saturn transit and have it land in entirely different parts of the chart.

Do I need my birth time?

It improves houses and angles. Without it, several planet-to-planet transits remain available and the limits are marked. Moira does not invent a rising sign when the data is missing.

Does a transit tell me what will happen?

No. It describes a symbolic period and possible theme, not a certain outcome. A transit can describe pressure, support, timing or attention, but your decisions and context still matter.

How long do astrology transits last?

Fast Moon transits can pass within hours, while slower planets can stay within orb for weeks or months. Retrograde motion can make a transit repeat in several waves.

What is the difference between an applying and separating transit?

An applying transit is moving toward exactness, so the topic may still be building. A separating transit has already passed exactness and is usually easier to read as integration, consequence or aftermath.

Which transits matter most today?

The closest aspects, slower planets, angular contacts and repeated retrograde hits usually deserve more attention than every minor contact in the sky. Moira prioritizes timing evidence instead of listing everything equally.

Can I use this as a daily astrology calculator?

Yes, but the best use is not to chase a new prediction every morning. Use the calculator to notice which themes are active, then compare them with your real schedule, mood and choices.

Is this the same as a horoscope?

No. A horoscope often starts from a Sun sign or rising sign. This page calculates current transits against your own natal chart, so the result is more specific and evidence-based.
